99 BIKE CHESAPEAKE BAY TO OCEAN

September 11, 1999   Saturday   Bike Bay to Ocean 105.1 miles

Got up and drove across the Kent Narrows Bridge to Nesbit Road and the Chesapeake Motel where we met. Ten of us biked away at about 7:00 am. Included were Pat Mooney, George Vintz, Jim Huelskamp, Don Bowie, Lew Frain, Barry Nelson, Pete Flaton and Dan McQueen. We rode from the Chesapeake Bay to the Atlantic Ocean in north Ocean City, MD. We stopped at Abdul’s in Federalsburg, MD for lunch. This year we didn’t get lost and had a good ride. At about 85 miles, Anne, Kathleen, Carol, Pat and Walt met us for ice cream. We biked into OC after 105.1 miles. We ate pizza for supper for $12. We had a party at Don Bowies sister’s house that evening. We shared a condo with Pat and Jimmy Huelskamp.

September 12, 1999   Sunday   Ocean City, MD

Slept in and didn’t run. We hung around OC visiting Walt Pleines house and Joe Flynn’s house. Ate supper at the Reflections for $60. Stayed in the Condo that night which cost us $50 for the 2 nights.

September 13, 1999   Monday   Drive to Columbia, MD

Got up and ran 5.1 miles in 44:14. Drove home to Columbia, MD. Ran into Joan Valentine at a farmer’s market on the way home.
