May 23, 1997   Friday   Bike Amish School

Got up and ran 5.1 miles. Drove to Ronks, PA where we met at the Harvest for lunch for $14.67. We biked 28 miles on the Amish School ride. We cleaned up and went to supper at the Bird in Hand for $23.77. We stayed at Kendig’s Tourist home in Ronks, PA and paid $78 for 3 nights.

May 24, 1997   Saturday   Bike Lancaster County

Got up and ran 5.1 miles. Biked to Jennies diner for breakfast for $9. We continued biking around Lancaster County for a total of 22.1 miles. We stopped for lunch at Stoudt’s for $11.50. We drove into Lancaster for supper at the Lancaster Malt Brew for $38.13 with the Nelsons, Huelskamps, Bowies and Frains. We had a good time and a good meal. We stayed at Kendig’s Tourist Home.

May 25, 1997   Sunday   Rain

Got up and ran 5.1 miles in 45:46. It is rainy so after much debate we don’t bike today. Went to Jennies Diner for lunch for $10.41. It rained quite a bit. Went to Jennie’s Diner for supper for $19.31. Every serving is huge served on a large platter and heaped up. Stayed at Kendig’s Tourist Home.

May 26, 1997   Monday   Drive to Columbia, MD

Today is Memorial Day. Got up and ran 5.3 miles in 47:27. Drove home to Columbia, MD stopping at McDonalds for lunch at $4.89. We ate a pizza supper with the Swansons for $17.67.
