96 Disney World

November 14, 1996 Thursday Fly to Orlando Florida Anne and I took US Air flight 1245 at 7:00 am from Baltimore Washington International to Orlando, FL arriving at 9:13 am. We toured Epcot Center most of the day. We ate lunch at Sunshine for $13.47. We ate supper at the Cantina de Angel in Mexico’s Exhibit for $20.73. We stayed in room 1245 at the Caribbean Beach in Disneyworld, FL.

November 15, 1996 Friday MGM Studios

Got up and ran 5 miles around the lake and through the other hotel complexes where our hotel was located. Spent the day at MGM Studios. We saw a show at the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” set and many other displays. We ate lunch at the Commissary for $15.23. We ate supper at the Old Port Royale in our hotel for $26.72. We stayed in room 1245 at the Carribean Beach.

November 16, 1996 Saturday Magic Kingdom & Epcot

Today is Anne’s 56th birthday. Got up and ran 5 miles through the complex. Went to the Magic Kingdom where we spent the day on the rides. Ate lunch at the Diamond Horseshoe for $19.07 and watched a show. In the evening we went to Epcot to watch the fireworks and ate supper at the Lotus Blossom for $21.81. We stayed in room 1245 at the Caribbean Beach Hotel.

November 17, 1996 Sunday Blizzard Beach

Got up and ran 5 miles on my circuit. We went to Blizzard Beach for the day. We started by tubing the canal around the water park. We then did the water slide in the pool and worked our way up successively higher and faster water slides.

We ate lunch at the Lottawatta for $10.80. Anne and I did a 90’ slide with two drops in it. When you came to the brink of the second drop you came off the slide and then into a free fall. I then did the 125’ free fall slide where you pass through a short tunnel and hit a trough of water sending a spray many feet in the air and out. You eventually stop in the trough. I calculated the speed at about 60 mph at the bottom.

We went to the MGM Studios where we rode the Hollywood Hotel ride. It takes you up a tower in the dark and drops you very quickly, stopping with a jolt and then dropping you again. It is a pretty exciting ride at night. We went to Epcot and ate supper at the German Biergarten in the German Pavilion for $22.05. We stayed in room 1245 at the Caribbean Beach Hotel.

November 18, 1996 Monday Fly to Baltimore

Got up and ran 5 miles on my familiar circuit. Lounged around the pool waiting for departure to the airport. After arrival at the airport we were delayed and bumped on our flight home. We ate at Chilis Too in the airport for $16.75. We finally got on a plane at 9:15 flying first class on US Air flight 1416 arriving at Baltimore Washington International Airport at 11:15 pm.
