FAMILY REUNION

Anne and I drove south on US-29 to west on MD-32 to west on I-70 into Pennsylvania and onto the Pennsylvania Turnpike. We exited the turnpike at the Butler Valley exchange onto PA-8 north where we turned on local roads to Valencia.

We stopped at Willee's for fish sandwiches which they have been serving over 45 years. We drove through Mars and the old high school where I graduated. I drove the back way to the house in Mooreville where I was born and raised and got lost needing guidance to find my way. The dirt road past the house is now paved. The house looks the same as when dad sold it in 1972. We drove through Evans City and Zelienople to I-79 north to Slippery Rock University. I received my bachelors degree there in 1964. The campus is all new and I got a picture of the baseball field.

We took I-80 west to Heritage where we checked into the Royal Motel room 216 for $49.05. We walked to Applebee's for supper for $43.29. We met my brother Sam who will be 80 August 2 and Lois who flew in from Chula Vista, California.

Satuday July 17, 2004

We drove to Slippery Rock to buy some memorabelia when the stores were open. We stopped at an Eat n Park for breakfast at $19.71. We then drove to my niece Dorita Bolger's house in West Middlesex a distance of about 4 miles.

People brought food too numerous to mention except for the banana cream pies Dorita baked. We had four generations in attendance with a fifth generation toddler absent. We left at 5:42 and drove 317.2 miles to Columbia, MD arriving at 10:50.
